Ash regularly wears a neck choker of some kind; not necessarily because she likes it but because it covers up the scars over her neck/throat. She’ll never forgive herself for failing to act in order to try and help them. The scars are a painful reminder of her cowardice. They’re white in the edges but a strange black in the middle; inflicted by a special type of monster that only exists on her homeplanet. The scars generally look unsettling for anyone who watches them.

Once she gets over this initial phase, she’s friendlier and more awkward, as she starts to let her walls down, showing a more quirky side. Her autistic tendencies tend to slip through more, making her infodump as well as showing discomfort in bad sensory situations. It doesn’t help that her ears often betray her moods, leaving her with next to no poker face. She’s highly overprotective of people she cares for but does so best in combat related manners. Her temper is easily provoked during threats.Morality: Generally good natured but will do what it takes for the greater good.

Spirituality: As many other carduls, she worships their deity Nidfegar; a dragon looking entity. While she had almost lost faith in their existence, she recently learned that they very much do exist. How do they see themselves: On bad days, as someone who failed. On good days, she tries to think about the fact that she has people who want to be around her and that means she can’t be that bad of a person after all.

Timeline
Age 0-12 (52-40 BBY)
On the fourth of ‘January’, 52 BBY, Ashyra Blake is born to Trygve and Revna Blake, in a remote village called Steinnlundr. She inherited her fathers wing colours and hair, and her mother’s eyes and facial features. Very early on, her parents realised she was a sensitive child with a very curious mind. Growing up in their house, shortly outside the village, she grew up sheltered, only ever seeing people from the nearby village. She had a difficult time with making friends and so kept much to herself, indulging in fantasies of visiting alien worlds, especially when her parents told her about how the Carduls were discovered by the rest of the galaxy.
Cardulia didn’t join the galactic community until around 150 BBY, as their hyperspace route wasn’t yet discovered. Once it was - a time the carduls call the Great Uncertainty - took place, where many other species tried to contact them as well as make use of them, like pirates. These explorers quickly learned that despite being primitive by their standards, they packed quite a punch with terrifying warriors who didn’t hesitate in defending their borders.Since their planet is rich in resources, the cardul leaders of the time made the choice of trading some for information and ships. As decades passed and their whole society started to adapt to the galactic community, the carduls became famous for their warriors and beautiful homeworld.
But also for their reclusiveness and unwillingness to cooperate too much with the rest. As a result, a lot of the inner lives of carduls remain a secret and visitors to the planet are rare. Especially when Cardulia was located close to Thalassia; an area in the region where slavers and pirates frequented.
Ash developed a fear and dislike of slavers and pirates already as a child, thanks to her father’s rather vivid storytelling. But it didn’t stop her from dreaming about becoming a galactic adventurer.
Age 12-17 (40-35 BBY)
As she entered her teenage years, her parents started to involve her in their chores as well as properly learning how to survive on her own. Ashyra was more interested in flying around and shooting things with her bow; wishing nothing more but to adventure out in the galaxy. While she picked up a few things from her parents, such as properly butchering animals and sewing, much else was simply ignored in favour of trying to explore, much to her parents’ frustration.
Ashyra kept mostly to herself still in this age and started to adopt the nickname Ash more, reserving her full name only to family members, per custom.
At the age of 15 she received a traditional bow from her parents, crafted by themselves. While many carduls had adopted firearms and energy bows at this rate, traditional weapons were still important and seen as a more honourable way to take down beasts.Between 15 and 17, she started to work a little as a courier between the nearby villages, further fuelling her interest for exploration. This is when she started to become a bit of a collector; bringing home whatever fancy minerals, trinkets or other pretty things she found during her work routes.
An invasion force of hikarens - dark force creatures with red eyes that emerge randomly on the planet every decade for just one night - enters the village of Steinnlundr and slaughters everyone in it, including Ash’s parents in 35 BBY. As far as hikaren invasions goes, this one is unusually thorough and Ash is the sole survivor of the attack.During the attack, her parents locked her into the pantry of their house, before succumbing to two hikarens. As the monsters try to break into the pantry, Ash attempts to escape through a window, only to make the room collapse on itself, burrowing her under the rubble. While the hikarens give up and disappear as the sun rises, Ash is trapped under the rubble, unable to move, with only her dead parents for company.
Hours pass before someone finds her; a traveller who happened to come by and realised something awful had happened. Raud Ternor digs her out of the rubble, helping her recover for a few days. Realising that the girl is woefully incapable of taking care of herself, he takes it upon himself to teach her.
Age 17-25 (35-27 BBY)
Raud ends up doing more than just taking Ash in to help her, he ends up outright adopting her, becoming her step-father in many ways. For eight years he teaches her proper survival skills, making her a perfect survivor with a preference for sniper rifles. While she’s haunted by her parent’s deaths, having developed a fear of closed spaces as a result of being trapped in the rubble, she’s determined to never again be helpless in a dangerous situation.
Ash becomes very serious and closed off during this time, rarely smiling or indulging in more relaxed activities, despite Raud trying to make her sometimes.
Age 25-30 (27-22 BBY)
Between 30 and 24 BBY, Cardulia slowly gathered the Republic’s interest which culminated in 24 BBY at the formation of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Seeing a greater threat at hand, the Republic were now eager to get as many as possibly into their fold. This also attracted various non cardul communities to develop on the planet, which were closely watched by the cardul leadership. Despite their suspicions, the Cardulia leadership agreed with the Republic’s proposition, finding themselves not aligning well with the Separatists’ goals and ideals.A Republic base was established in the Cardulia capital of Tovor in 24 BBY, becoming a safe haven for Republic forces and citizens in the area. Still suspicious and wary of the whole thing, the cardul leadership put Zenda House in charge of the Cardulian interests in the base. A stubborn cardul who would make sure that their interests wouldn’t be ignored or trampled all over. She’s the to go to contact for any Republicans, who in turn reports everything to the Cardulian leadership.
Between 24 and 22 BBY the cooperation between the Republic and Cardulia flourished, as more carduls joined the Republic business in various departments. In such a short time, many of them became a lot less recluse and a lot was gleaned from Cardulian culture and ferocity.Raud started to work for Zenda during this time; acting as an advisor to both her and any Republic contacts seeking to explore the region and other tasks. He eventually drew in Ash as well, who was admittingly curious about the development of the Republic’s presence on the planet.
While her main task was to assist him (and learn about the Republic in general on behest of his own request of her), she did end up performing so well that the Republic leaders on the base took notice of her. Unlike many of the cardul warriors in the base, Ash wasn’t just an expert on energy archery, but also with sniper rifles. In the end of 22 BBY, after the Clone Wars had begun, the Separatists tried to kidnap someone from the Cardulian leadership, in order to convince them to stop working with the Republic. Something the rest of the leadership demanded that the Republic handle at once.
A seasoned Jedi Knight; Hide (pronounced Hi-de), was sent out to deal with the matter, along with the Clone Captain Tenno and 30 highly trained troopers. Raud suggested they bring Ash with her. Although she couldn’t understand Hide at the time (due to him being mute), Tenno served as a translator using GSL (Galactic Sign Language). They successfully saved the council member and brought in the kidnappers to be judged in a trial on Coruscant. Naturally, the Separatists cut all ties with the kidnappers, claiming they were an independent party.
Age 30-33 (22-19 BBY)
For the next three years, Hide was stationed in the Cardulian region of space permanently and with how well he and Ash had cooperated, he’d requested her to be assigned to his squad of clones, as a guide, if she so desired. Wanting to see more of the Republic and space itself, Ash agreed, becoming a frequent part of the Jedi’s company.During this time Geir Svalegern was assigned as a sort of replacement for Ash, advancing quickly in the ranks and showing great interest in the way the Republic handled things and how their entire command structure worked. While Ash’s assets lay in her physical prowess; Geir’s talent for strategy and bureaucracy won him many hearts and minds in the Republic base. Of course he was a good and reliable warrior as well, as most carduls are but he preferred not to show too much of those talents near the Republic. As Geir advanced in the ranks of the Republic, Ash during her first year with Hide learned a lot about the worlds outside of Cardulia. During that time, she had become comfortable with space travelling; although she never could get over the discomfort of being on ships for too long. She also learned sign language in order to communicate with Hide and started to build a friendship with Geir, as he often sought her advice in regards to now having her former job.
Nearing the end of 21 BBY, the Separatists once again go after Cardulia, though this time they try to establish a base on the planet, hidden deep into the mountains. Mountains they know the carduls avoid due to spiritual reasons. Somehow, this information is only ever learned by the Republic and they never share it with the Cardulian leadership. Not wanting to alert them either, the Republic asks Hide to handle this discreetly. Tenno contacts Cody, knowing the General is trying to sort out how to deal with the situation without using a large, visible force and Cody suggests Clone Force 99, even if they’re quite new on the field.
The Bad Batch arrives and together with Hide and Ash, as well as Tenno and a few of his most trusted troopers, they manage to take out the base without the carduls ever knowing differently. While this bothers Ash a bit, she trusts Hide when he says it's for the best. Besides, it’s considered taboo to be in these mountains and Ash has no desire to share that information with her people. The mountains are supposedly the resting place for the deity that most carduls still worship and they avoid the mountain out of respect. While Hide’s tasked to follow the Jedi Council’s command after this event and is tasked to travel more between different regions of space, Ash remains a bit more free in her endeavours. She varies between helping her people, assisting Hide or even joining the Bad Batch on various missions nearby, getting more confident that the Republic is the right side to stand with. It’s quite an active part of her life, as she’s kept very busy while also developing a strong friendship with Tech, as well slowly falling for him, even if she refuses to accept the latter. Most of all though, she’s realising how well Geir has adapted into the Republic system; as he’s acting and talking more like a Republic commander, rather than a cardul. It mostly intrigues her, as her own thoughts have gone in similar directions, as they and a few other carduls are considering permanently joining the Republic’s ranks. However, she quickly realises that his opinions on how the Republic should handle things is a lot darker than her own. Enough that she starts seeking some distance from him out of wariness. In the meantime, The Bad Batch become close enough allies that she learns pretty quickly of their new recruit, meeting Echo on their next mission together.
Age 33 (19 BBY)
Order 66 happens and mostly everyone’s worlds are turned upside down. Ash is with Hide on Cardulia when Tenno and his troopers suddenly turn on the Jedi, attempting to kill him. Hide has no desire to kill them; although he has no choice but to end some of their lives. Finding himself unable to defend himself against Tenno, he suffers a few serious wounds, until Ash can take him out from the situation. In doing this, she’s spotted and labelled a traitor by Geir, who has quickly joined the new Empire. She contacts the Bad Batch, who despite their own issues shows up to take her and Hide off-world. They bring Hide to a moon upon his request where he’ll be picked up by his own people, as he knows he can’t return to the Jedi Temple. He bids Ash farewell there, with the assumption of never seeing her again as his homeworld is very remote and unknown to anyone but its inhabitants.
At a loss for what to do, Ash tags along with the Bad Batch as they reach Ord Mantell, helping them out. Things don't turn out too well, as the Batch are captured by the zygerrian slavers; the result of everyone suffering from the lack of Crosshair’s presence. Ash and Echo manage to distract the slavers enough to release the rancor, buying them their alliance with Cid.Ash joins the Bad Batch from now on, following them throughout most events in Season 1. After the visit to Ryloth, and a failed attempt in grabbing Crosshair as by now the Batch has started to figure out it’s the chip controlling him, Zenda contacts Ash and asks for her assistance with Geir back on Cardulia. The Batch tag along with her, learning that the Empire is planning a hostile takeover of the Cardulian capital, in order to fully crush the carduls’ rebellious streak. The planet has not accepted the shift from the Republic to the Empire and wants them off their planet. Geir knows that a strong show of force is the best way to convince such a warrior race to stand down.Zenda wants Ash to talk him down, something Ash has no idea how to do. She and Hunter sneak into his headquarters in the capital, and she’s horrified to learn that Geir’s now a fanatic Imperial, willing to do anything for the Empire. She can’t convince him otherwise and her presence even seems to anger him even more, as he orders the orbiting Venators to start bombarding the city, planning on blaming the attack on the cardul rebels.
Ash wants to stay and fight, but is forced to escape via the Marauder, as she otherwise risks dying in the explosions, especially as Geir is now set on killing her. Around thirty thousand people lose their lives during the bombardment and Ash considers herself a coward for escaping, something she and Echo spend a lot of time talking about; the guilt they have both experienced for different reasons.Ash also loses several relatives in the attack, which are scarce to start with. She doesn’t know where Raud is, as he had disappeared already before the attack and is unable to contact him. Zenda remains alive however and will continue to try and keep things peaceful between the Empire and the Carduls. But she suggests that Ash stays away from the planet for now, as everyone will be looking for her on it.The Bad Batch end up with their own problems shortly after, as Hunter is kidnapped and Tipoca City falls, leaving a quite depressive way into the next year.
Age 33-34 (18 BBY)
The Batch continues to work for Cid for a while, disgruntledly so. The first few months after Tipoca City’s fall (takes place between S1 and S2) Ash and Tech become even closer, until he makes her a courtship bracelet, more or less fully accepting her culture. They officially become a pair after years of friendship, much to the rest of the Batch’s relief. The Batch changes their outfit some, to fit in with the loss of Crosshair and Ash permanently joining the team.
As season 2 events kick in, they encounter Hakon, a cardul smuggler who was raised on another world and has basically no idea about cardulian culture. His presence causes big problems for the Batch, as he indirectly works for Cid with ties to the Durand family and so the Batch can’t afford to deal properly with him, despite the problems he causes. For one thing, he ‘sells’ Ash off to an alien for his own gain (using the plot of the Idiot’s array from Rebels, instead of the Entombed mission in S2).At this rate, the team is making the decision to part ways with Cid as they no longer agree with her work, especially as she seems to be taking a darker path into Durand territory which they have no desire to follow. Hakon, whose allegiance with the Durands is unsteady at best and relies on the Batch working with Cid, attempts to kidnap Ash in desperation, resulting in Tech injuring one of Hakon’s wings to the point of him being unable to ever use it again. After this, the Batch leaves Ord Mantell for good, having overstayed their welcome in the city. Their departure from Cid is amicable, even if she’s disappointed and she tells Hunter that they’ll come crawling back to her at some point. After this departure, an old friend to the squad and Ash as well as someone Hunter has a growing romantic interest in, Ranec, wants Tech and Ash’s help with a heist. They complete the mission, with Ranec finally being able to bring them to a secret project he’s been working on. A planet system which can’t be discovered by the Empire, as its coordinates constantly shift. Only specific signature keys can bring a ship to the right location.
This is how the Bad Batch ends up on Skeio, a wild planet with only one newly established colony on. The colony consists of clones that Rex have rescued and brought there, as well as a few cardul refugees. Together, they all manage to build a flourishing community, hoping themselves safe from the Empire. As such, it also becomes an important location for Rex’s crew. Here, Ash encounters Tenno again, who is deeply regretful of his actions, even though he knows now it was the chip’s fault. The Batchers are given their own rooms to hopefully see as permanent homes, before Echo returns after a mission, carrying news about Crosshair.
Per canon, the Batch decide to try and find out where Crosshair is being held, resulting in Plan 99.Tech’s fall normally wouldn’t have been an issue for Ash but during the mission she breaks her wing, resulting in her only partially being able to stop Tech from falling to his death. They both crash onto the ground, sustaining injuries, allowing for Hemlock to find them and bring them to Mount Tantiss. While their injuries are looked after, Hemlock is more interested in Tech’s mind. Using Ash as blackmail - threatening to kill her if Tech doesn’t cooperate - he makes use of Tech to figure out what Nala Se refuses to do in regards to the cloning techniques. It’s pure luck - or hidden assistance - that Ash ends up in a cell opposite of Crosshair before he’s taken away to another cellblock. Desperate, she does a ritual to call for her deity’s assistance; a dragon entity that works within dreams only. Not expecting a reply, she’s very surprised when she next falls asleep. Nidfegar, who very much exists still, connects Ash with the other two clones, allowing them to share dreams so that they can cooperate through them and figure a way out of the facility. It takes Tech a week of subterfuge and technical skills to craft himself a keycard he can use to free the other two, as well as the other imprisoned clones. As the three of them fight their way through the facility, Tech also manages to stop Hemlock from deploying any poisonous gas, as well as send out a distress call to the rest of the Bad Batch. The Bad Batch in the meanwhile have been blackmailed by the Vanguard Axis as they’ve more or less taken Cid hostage in her parlour. The droids aren’t fond of the Batch since their last encounter and they arrive there, realising that the droids have also sold them out to the Empire. Hemlock gives them Tech’s goggles, claiming the man to be dead, along with Ash. They fight their way out of the situation, with Cid helping them for various reasons, who is shot in the back and killed. They escape, distraught by everything, until the day after they learn that Tech’s goggles have recorded the whole thing, including where Hemlock told them to be taken. The very planet where Mount Tantiss is located. That’s why they can act so fast when Tech sends the distress call, they’re already on the planet, along with Rex’s crew, Ranec and Varga, another old friend, looking for the facility.
As a last ditch effort to buy time, as Ash and co, along with some escaped clones are pinned down in the hangar of the facility; Tech unleashes a virus into the system, threatening to delete all of Hemlock’s data. In doing so, he also copies some of it over, as well as deleting any information pertaining to the Bad Batch themselves. The extraction is barely successful, with them escaping with new scars and being taken to a temporary hiding spot; an old republic based on a long deserted moon. Using AZI, who has been with Rex since Tipoca City fell, they remove the chips from the clones, including Crosshair who has a lot to catch up on.Currently, the Bad Batch are recovering on Skeio; with Tech having gained a wide scar across his left skull, and Ash having received a scar across her right ear. The team decides to try and help Rex out with freeing more clones, as well as causing chaos for the Empire where they can, using Skeio as a homebase. Crosshair joins up with the team again, but will also join up on missions with Rex and Varga as well, splitting his attention between several teams for now. Echo comes to the same decision.Tech starts to use a jetpack after the whole ordeal to prevent himself from falling like that again, but also in order to properly fly with Ash, as per cardul culture. He also crafts her devices to use on her boots and gloves, allowing her to magnetically attach them to surfaces, making her an even deadlier sniper.
The team’s ready for their next move; accepting their new life as rebels and vigilantes of the galaxy, while also trying to maintain a semblance of a normal life on Skeio.

Tech and Ash first met each other during the Clone Wars, when Clone Force 99 was sent on a mission to her homeworld. Since then they've done the occasional missions together, until Ash joined the Bad Batch after Plan 99. Between season 1 and 2, Tech gave her a courtship bracelet to show his interest, per cardulian culture. Ash gave him one of her own and they've been together since then. They're both autistic and grey-sexual. They listen patiently to each others' info dumps and are an excellent team when it comes to combat and their shared flight skills.

What do they find especially endearing?
Ash: The way he focuses on his tasks; especially when he gets really into it. How he sometimes actually walks into things because he was so focused on his datapad.
Tech: Her wings sometimes fidgets as they settle into place. The movement of her ears, especially when embarrassed. How do they get their way?
Ash: By asking nicely and telling him it’d make her happy.
Tech: Usually by being logical and explaining why his reasoning is the best one/makes the most sense. What is their love language?
Ash: Asking for help for simple things, even though she doesn’t really need the help. Listens. (Words of affirmation, Quality time.)
Tech: Infodumping, making sure she takes care of herself. Pays attention. (Acts of service, Quality time)How do they show they’re serious?
In Ash’s culture they already have, by trading Courtship bracelets, but it’s something very few are even aware of. They’ll just straight out tell people they’re serious if the matter’s brought up, but it doesn’t matter to them to show it in any other form. What first caught their eye?
Ash: His voice, how fast he talked. The way he concentrated and his intelligence. Mainly out of endearment but then she saw him fight too and it hit a lot harder.
Tech: Her wings, he was very fascinated with them. Then he learned about her combat prowess and the fact she listened to him, which is a huge plus in his eyes. How do they flirt?
Ash: Even if she did use the ‘classic methods’ of flirting, Tech wouldn’t notice them much. She’ll start off very forward until she has his attention and then she can be more subtle about it.
Tech: Doesn’t intentionally flirt (unless he has particularly read up on it at the time.) Tech’s very forward once he wants something though and that intensity can absolutely be flirting. How do they provide comfort?
Ash: Physical touch mainly. Sometimes advice, if it’s a subject Tech isn’t familiar with. She’ll also distract him with finding things for him to work on. To some extent.
Tech: Offers advice and practical solutions, which usually do include physical touch and things that will make her happy at the time. What is their favourite look on their partner?
Ash: Honestly, the armour. She’s not a big fan of the bodysuit all clones have. Casual clothing works too, but it’s very rare for Tech to wear it, as he finds his own gear the most comfortable.
Tech: As he wants her safe, usually her armour. But for his own sake, the traditional cardul outfit, which is Ash’s ‘main’ one. What kind of dates do they like?
Ash: Scenic places to relax in, or places with games, so she can beat him. (She rarely does.)
Tech: Museums, etc; places where he can study things and share that knowledge with her.How jealous are they? How do they show it?
Ash: Grumpy, death glares. Can resort to punching the target if they’re too annoying about it. Involuntary body languages such as hissing and tilted back ears.
Tech: Rarely gets jealous, as he’s confident in himself and them. But when it does happen, he’ll usually glare at the target and outsmart/outshine them. How do they apologise?
Ash: Her body language will consist of tilted back ears, avoiding eye contact and usually wrapping her wings around herself. She’s quick to apologise, though in truth she rarely has to because she doesn’t upset Tech all that often.
Tech: The first times he barely realised he’d upset her and tried to explain his actions rather than properly apologise, which she did accept because she knows some social interactions are difficult for him. He’s better at it now, as he takes in what he did and tries to do better.Favourite thing about their partner?
Ash: Many, but she does enjoy how witty he is when someone’s pissed him off.
Tech: The fact Ash will punch people for insulting him. What’s their favourite memory together?
Both would say when they initiated their ‘courtship.’What does a normal day look like for them? (when no mission is on)
Ash: She will practise her violin playing, or transcribe more music sheets. Hang around with the others, fix up her gear, bother Tech a lot. Hunt and make food when she can because rations will actually kill her some day.
Tech: Fixes with the Marauder, his gear, everyone else’s gear, solves a few puzzles of various sorts, studies. Practices whatever skill he’s feeling for. Listening to the others as they bicker, makes sure everything is stocked and ready. How do they show they’re together?
Again, the courtship bracelet. But also things like standing close to each other, subtle shoulder touches, hand holding etc. Any kisses would be pretty obvious but neither is fond of PDA.How do they relax together?
Ash has developed a fondness of sitting in his lap when she can, as she likes resting her head on his chest. Tech in turn is fond of resting his chin or head on hers. They can usually be found like that, granted Tech usually has the datapad in hand and will share anything interesting he finds as he reads. Sometimes he outright reads everything out loud to her. What can they do together without talking?
If both are reading/studying something, they’ll usually do it in each other’s presence. Tech in particular has become really good at reading Ash’s intentions by looking at her ears actually. He’ll notice sounds he can’t hear, thanks to her reacting to them before she can say anything. What kind of gifts do they give?
Ash: Ash doesn’t give gifts easily, because she finds herself useless with ideas. If they were on Cardulia she’d give him handmade things from nature, or properly made meals, but it’s harder out in space. She’ll usually ask the others for advice.
Tech: Practical things, little things that will make Ash’s life easier even if she didn’t know she needed it. Sometimes he actually does large romantic gestures, but she will usually notice if he does it because he ‘wants to’ or because one of the boys has told him. The sentiment is the same, but the latter makes her laugh, which really works for him too.How do they sleep together?
Ash’s wings do offer some complications (why she prefers hammocks.) It’s easier for her to lay on her stomach, so she’ll very often end up half on top of him, or on her side. Tech very much likes to curl up against her wings though as they’re very soft, sometimes it’s just easier for her to be the ‘big spoon’. On another note, Tech actually sleeps restfully by her side, rather than staying awake half the night by his thoughts. What small things do they do for each other?
Ash: Makes sure that he stretches his back and neck regularly. Massages his head during his headaches.
Tech: Making sure she eats and drinks properly. Helps her when her wings molts. What would their wedding be like?
Most likely a traditional Cardul wedding, which is still very simple. There’s a lot of music and food involved. What always makes them smile?
Ash: When he points out another small, fun fact out of nowhere. His general curiosity. Whenever he walks into something because he was too distracted.
Tech: Her getting along with his brothers, aka bickering with them. Her little ear and wing fidgets. Generally, her smile does it too. What pet-names and compliments do they use?
Ash: Sometimes she’ll call him love, whether in basic or cardulian. Will compliment his intelligence and physical appearance, as well as flying capability.
Tech: Ashyra or love. Will compliment her archery and sharpshooting skills, as well as creative thinking. Physical appearance is rarer but it happens, mainly because he thinks she’s obviously beautiful and doesn’t need to hear it.How do they kiss?
Ash: Quick, sudden cheek kisses. Also very abrupt deep ones that always snap him out of whatever he’s doing/thinking about at the time.
Tech: A lot of forehead kisses. Deeper ones are rarer and a slow build up, but breath stealing once he gets there. What do they do when they’re apart?
In a regular, non dangerous situation, they’re both very independent and function about the same when apart. It’s different if one’s out somewhere dangerous.
Ash: Talks with the others a lot more, tries not to look worried but they know. Doesn’t like being alone.
Tech: Focuses a lot on his work, doesn’t talk as much or respond as much as normally as his thoughts are elsewhere. What’s their favourite picture together?
Ash: A selfie Ash somehow managed to take using Tech’s goggles. He protested and pretended to be upset but he hasn’t deleted it.
Tech: Literally all of them, as there aren’t too many around to start with. He does like group shots though.
Other ships and friendships

Adam and Ash(Deus Ex HR and MD AU)They first meet each other when their respective bosses start cooperating and as they're both the chief of security for their respective companies, Ash and Adam has to cooperate as well, becoming fast friends.
They stay as such, with a few hints towards a deeper interest, when the Augmentation Incident 'kills' off Adam and Ash doesn't learn of his survival until a year later.
During Mankind Divided, her boss sends her to help Adam, on behalf of the Juggernaut Collective. Spending more time together, Ash and Adam lets old attractions resurface and by the end of MD, they're an item. For more information, check Ash's DX AU page.art credit: maxkennedy24

Kotallo and Ash(Horizon Forbidden West AU)As Ash wakes up in a new world; when Aloy finds her cryopod, she's at first distraught in learning that everything she knows is gone. Thankfully, she remains a capable soldier and ends up becoming quite useful in the fight against the Zeniths.
She gets to know Kotallo while doing so, finding herself the most at home with the Tenakth and particularly the Sky Clan. After the events of HFW, she and Kotallo eventually becomes an item, with her requesting to do the kulrut in other to become a marshal.
Chief Hekarro agrees, on the condition that she does so with her wings tied behind her back. Ash manages to pull it off, joining Kotallo as a marshal and their first task together is going to Meridian in order to hopefully foster better relations between the Tenakth and the Carja.art credit: meg-noel-art

Gale and Ash(Baldur's Gate 3 AU)Forced to join together due to their shared tadpoles, Ash is highly suspicious of Gale at first, even if she finds him charming. She warms up to him and while Gale shows her how the Weave works, he actually unlocks the Weave within her (something her species coming from another realmspace doesn't normally have access to). As a result Ash becomes a ranger/bard, capable of using her violin music to inspire others as well as a few other spells. As they adventure together, Gale starts to forget about Mystra more and more and starts actually seeing a future again, despite his condition. Once he realises that Ash cares for him just the way he is, he fully falls for her, just as she falls for him.art credit: maxkennedy24
Ash and Raud
Ash's mentor in almost any AU, Raud will always be important to her. He took her in and healed her up and then taught her the importance of surviving. In the end, he always ends up adopting her, becoming a father figure to her. He's a large man, with a large heart; always laughing and seeing the joy in things.
Ash and VargaOne of Ash's closest friends, although Varga has pulled her into plenty of sticky situations. It's always a treat getting out of them again, so Ash doesn't mind it too much. Things are never boring around Varga.
Ash and Kherus
(Horizon Forbidden West AU)As they're both Old Ones, Kherus quickly becomes over protective of Ash, seeing in her a kindred spirit. Even if she's a lot softer and nicer than him, he tolerates it.

Western/RDR with supernatural influencesRace: Cardul
Age: 33
General Appearance: Dressed in blues, black, browns or reds with decorative edges, usually with runes and tassels.
Weapons: Bows, sniper rifles.
Profession: Courier, hunter.
Ship: Tech. Her parents were lost to a wild animal attack when she was a teen; she tried her best to help them but couldn’t and this still haunts her. The scars on her neck from that event helps remind her. She struggled to return to her clan afterwards out of guilt however and tried to survive on her own. When roaming too close to one of the more human based settlements, she was provoked into a fight by a few humans. The fight was interrupted by a Mexican cowboy ghoul named Raud; who helped her to recover from her injuries as well as gave her some tips on how to survive in the world outside of her clan.Raud became her mentor and best friend fairly quickly and she spent several years by his side, even building up the courage to approach her clan again, who happily took her in.These days she’s often hanging around Rusthowl, as it's the closest settlement to her clan, as well as the most flourishing one. She acts as the town’s courier and hunter, but will occasionally act as a guide or scout to those who need it.She also often plays music in Cid’s bar; a small corner place in the town. The Bad Batch also hangs around here a lot, which is where she eventually encounters Tech.
Horizon Forbidden West with supernatural influencesAsh was frozen down along with Robert and Zenda House; the cryo facility hidden underneath Robert’s casino underneath Las Vegas. He knew what was coming and tried to save them all. She’s not woken up again until Aloy finds her during the early events of Horizon Forbidden West, just a few weeks before the facility would have run out of power.Unfortunately Ash’s pod was the only one still active, but at least her Focus was still functioning, allowing her a few memories from her old life. Aloy brings her to the Base where the rest of her allies help Ash back on her feet and teach her about the current world, although there’s a lot Ash can teach them about her old world as well. They’re all a bit surprised to see she has wings, but accept it quickly enough. As Ash helps them against the Zeniths, she and Kotallo become good friends, before becoming an item after the events of HFW. She feels quite at home among the Tenakth and especially the Sky clan, but she does feel she can do the most work as a marshal. She boldly asks Chief Hekarro to perform the kulrut to allow her a chance to become a marshal in his service. He agrees, provided she proves she can fight without access to her wings. With her wings tied up, she does succeed in the kulrut and becomes a marshal.Together with Kotallo, Hekarro sends them to Meridian to try and foster good relations between the Tenakth and the Carja. Especially so they can prepare for Nemesis’ arrival.Looking the way she does, Ash is quite unique in a world that doesn’t seem to harbour supernatural creatures anymore. She often wears a helmet to avoid too many questions and paints her body to make her blue skin less conspicuous. Her wings are harder to hide; at a distance people can mistake them for a very fancy cloak but sooner or later people find out, with varying results.Sub AU: Rather than falling in love with Kotallo, she falls for Tech instead, once the Bad Batch arrives at the base.
Fantasy AU called EboraAsh always wanted to be a sorcerer when she grew up, however her family realised early on that she showed no signs at all of developing magic. It forced her to rethink her future and she took on archery instead, vowing to become an expert in it. She became a proficient flyer and was good at shooting down targets from the sky at high speed, already as a teen.
It wasn’t enough to help save her parents however, as their home was attacked by fierce beasts who burned down her home when she was just 17, as well as killed her parents. She got away from the ordeal with a strike of their claws against her neck, which healed into scars.Raud found her, half bleeding to death and nursed her back to health and stuck with her for a few years. From him, Ash learned about the world outside of their northern homelands. He took her to their great capital, far away from her home town and here she stayed, utilising her skills as a courier and mercenary both. This was fitting work for her for many years, until the time of the Draugr invasions on the western shores. This of course causes a small panic among her people, especially with their rivals, the danurns starting to test their borders to the south. She has half a mind to head to either the west or the south, when a seid calls for her specifically.
Zenda, one of the seids who directly communes with their dragon god, Nidfegar, claims to have seen Ash in a vision from the dragon. While the message is vague, she gathers as much that Ash will be important in the coming years. However, not by fighting for her people in the country, but rather by leaving it.According to Nidfegar, the danurns aren’t the real threat, although they’d like to think so. The ones who are helping them (and causing the draugr invasions) are the real danger and if the draugr attacks can be stopped, the danurns will have no choice but to stop their attacks in turn.Ash receives a task from Zenda and through her, Nidfegar. To travel abroad and find the cause of the draugr attacks. She’s warned to possibly need allies and receives a seal that carries the Cardulian mark, in hopes of having an easier time in finding aid.The only guidance she receives is that the plan of attack is a slow one, meaning she will have the time, and that her search begins south of Danurn. She’s a bit uncomfortable with the notion that Nidfegar will follow her process and will contact her in her dreams when need be; he is after all a dragon considered to be her god but she accepts the charge naturally. To say no would be an impossibility.
Modern, with fantasy/supernatural influenceswip
Profession: Courier | Mercenary
Weapons: Sniper rifle, shotgun.
Birthplace: Las Vegas, America.
Same appearance as in fantasy but can turn regular human looking through a magical rune; however it doesn't actually physically change her form, the wings are still there just invisible.
FalloutWIP
Baldur's Gate 3Ash is a cardul from Cardulia; another planet in the same Realmspace as Toril. It’s a colder world, where carduls and another elven species, as well as a reptilian one exists, but no humans. They are faintly aware of githyanki and mindflayers as both visit and use their world for various reasons. Humans don’t exist here.
While magic does exist in their world; it’s much rarer and not known as the Weave or even functioning the same. Everything on the planet is ruled by one deity, Nidfegar. Due to a shared heritage a very long time ago; these humanoid species sharing the planet use the same common language as on Toril.Carduls have wings, a very good hearing due to their flexible ears, and fangs. They are naturally resistant to cold and most are incapable of casting magic as they’re mainly a warrior race. Only seids are capable of using magic.During the events of BG3, Ash is picked up by the nautiloid ship, same as the others and brought to the Sword Coast. Taking on the role of the game protag, she raises a lot of eyebrows due to her appearance and complete lack of knowledge about the world and the magic in it.
Deus Ex HR and MD AU
Occupation: Chief of Security at Mercury Corps/Agent
Age: 29 (HR) - 31 (MD)
Date of Birth: 1998, 4th January, Capricorn
Place of Birth: Sweden
Eyes: Cybernetically amber coloured. Black eyeliner and black eyeshadow.
Hair: Black, short, about chin height, shaved on the right side.
Skin: Caucasian, tanned.Augmentations: Both arms are auged, with wing-like extensions that act like shields for bullets and explosions. Combined with the icarus landing system, Ash can glide using the wings as well. Weapon assist systems, Infolink, cybernetic eyes and some hacking tools.
Weapons: Specialised sniper rifle, a 10mm pistol, stun gun.
Born to a Swedish mother and an American father, Ash’s childhood was spent in Sweden before they moved to America, namely Las Vegas, to live with her father. Ash struggled some with the change of scenery and making new friends and she kept to herself a lot of the time. Once she could, she enrolled in law enforcement studies in order to follow somewhat in her father’s footsteps - who previously was a soldier but now worked as a bouncer in a well established club.Ash did so well in her class that she had no issues finding a job once she was done with them; her mother had some contacts with a big and powerful company called Mercury Corps (MC), who took in Ash as a security guard. While working as that for years, she continued to take more classes and study in weapons expertise - which much to her surprise was funded by the CEO of MC himself. In 2024 Ash became the Chief of Security at MC, having impressed the boss with her natural talent in weapons and hard work. It’s a job she takes very seriously, with her parents being very proud of her. It also comes with the added ‘perks’ of getting her a few augmentations of her own.
Human Revolution
In late 2026, House starts developing an interest in augmentations and begins a small collaboration with Sarif Industries to test the grounds a little. It’s here Ash first encounters Adam, Sarif’s new Chief of Security. In order to keep both companies safe, they cooperate during the several meetings between their bosses and even become friends in their private time. When Sarif’s industries are attacked in 2027 and she hears about how Adam almost died, she’s one of the few people who actually gets to see him regularly during his recovery. Partly because of what happens with her boss shortly after.Robert is assassinated while visiting the factory floor of MC; a difficult feat to start with considering the high security. Perhaps that was the main reason why his wife, who was with him, escaped the assassination herself; because the cloaked, auged woman failed to maintain her cloak throughout the whole ordeal.Zenda saw the woman flee the scene before the company’s security could react; and it’s an appearance she has put well into memory. As Chief of Security Ash blames herself for the assassination but is reassured by Zenda herself that they had no way of knowing this would happen as the people in question were simply too powerful. She knew her husband had attracted strong enemies.Adam turns out to be able to assure Ash as well; despite his own current struggles. He’s even thankful for the distraction from his own problems for a moment.Ash doesn’t see Adam much once he’s back on duty, partly because of the events of HR but also because she ends up working closely with the new CEO of MC.It does still involve regular contact with Francis Pritchard and Adam at times, especially after learning that the woman responsible for the death of Robert is one of the Tyrants who attacked Sarif Industries. When the ‘glitches’ start to happen, she considers getting the new biochip that they’re announcing but when she learns that Francis’ is still performing tests on it, she decides to wait as neither him nor Malik, Sarif’s pilot, rushes for the chip. Even her own CEO is sceptical, undoubtedly due to secluded information from JC.When the ‘Incident’ happens and the augs with the new biochip installed, lose their minds, Ash is luckily not one of them. As the world seems to descend into chaos, and she’s busy protecting Mercury Corps from people driven crazy by the biochip, it’s first afterwards that she finds out several horrible news at once. Her father got the new biochip despite her warning him about it and he ends up killing her mother. While she knows it’s not his fault, Ash struggles for a long time to accept what actually happened and her father is understandably heartbroken about it. So much so that he commits suicide a few weeks after the Incident because he can’t live with himself. Her boss turns out to be a crucial help to her in this difficult time; helping Ash through it.On top of this, she also learns that Sarif is in a coma, Adam is presumed dead and that the world as they know it, is taking a very dangerous turn for augmented people. Zenda retreats from the business with Sarif’s industries, to avoid getting too much attention though she picks up a few staff members who are willing to come work for her. As Sarif Industries fall, Zenda falls back to safer work, such as the robots and the casino. Thanks to that, the company is never as affected by the Incident as many others are.Ash does offer Francis a job with them, but he declines. Malik on the other hand agrees to join them, becoming one of the pilots of MC and in many ways, Zenda’s personal pilot, including Ash’s.
Black Light
It’s through Francis that Ash finds out Adam is still alive, a year after the Incident. By then, Ash has managed to secure MC although she is still dealing with the loss of her parents. She’s thankful for Adam still being alive but can’t do much about the events in Detroit beyond offering Francis a job at MC. This time the hacker agrees, perhaps spooked from the events. Or because he feels it gives him better options than before.Ash and Malik both get to see Adam before he joins TS29. It’s around this time that Zenda reveals the JC for Ash; who quickly joins the illusive group. She’s not surprised to hear that Adam recently joined either.Adam ends up contacting Zenda through Ash, asking if they can arrange for the move of his parents and Sarah out of Detroit. It’s easily fixed as Zenda considers it a favour she owes Sarif. Adam’s relatives are moved to a safe location (along with Corax, his dog).Mankind Divided
With Zenda’s vested interest in helping them out, she sends Ash to Prague to aid Alex Vega. Ash temporarily leaves her job as a Chief of Security and simply becomes an ‘agent’ of House and the JC.She’ll assist Adam when she can, despite his stubborn insistence on working alone. Otherwise she remains near Vega and other JC members that hide around in Prague. It’s in House’s interest that they all survive and having a friendly sniper in the neighbourhood is always a good idea. She and Adam develop a tighter bond during that time, enough that some old attraction resurfaces, which they do end up exploring despite or perhaps because of the dangerous lives they live. By the time that MD’s events happen, they’re basically already an item.
Important lore changes/HCs and notesGeneral about JC
The Juggernaut Collective in its early days made contact with Robert House, after discovering that he had found some sensitive information about the hidden group known as the Illuminati. While House didn’t know either name at the time, he knew that someone was interfering on a grand scale with what was happening in the world. Due to his influence and being a multi-billionaire, the JC were very keen on getting him over to their side, before the Illuminati did.House joined them and in the years to come, he provided the group with a great deal of intel and financial support. Enough that in current days, he serves as a direct member of Janus; the illusive leader of the JC. Which, of course, is a secret to almost everybody, including his closest agents. Only the actual members of the Janus figure know about each other and even then, they have numerous failsafes to make sure they can’t betray each other or that one can’t make a decision for the JC without the others’ knowledge or approval. Janus works as a Council and that’s the whole idea, a figure with many faces.Mercury Corps
Robert’s father is the founder of this old and prosperous company stationed in Las Vegas, with its roots firmly in the making of kitchen applications. Once Robert himself took over twenty years ago, the company has since widened its horizons. These days, they produce actual robots, such as drones and boxguards. Their signature robots however are the sentry bots. Not only is he a successful rival to Steiner-Bisley GmbH, he’s also popular among the common folk, as Mercury Corps also produces smaller security drones for simple house security. The company also owns a famous casino in Las Vegas, the Lucky 38.This of course doesn’t make him too popular within other circles, as his company has been under hacker attacks many times, as well as some physical altercations by unknown people. This is one of the reasons he was contacted by the JC a few years ago, when he started to investigate who was attacking him.Disaster struck during HR events, as Robert House ended up straight in the Tyrants’ path. He was murdered, whether they knew of his ties with JC or not, remains unknown. Most point towards it all being an unfortunate accident, or at best a distraction to serve the Tyrants’ as his death caused quite a stir in the media. His wife, who was with him at the time, managed to escape thanks to an agent. At first horrified, her fear quickly grew into rage. She was well aware of the JC, and as such took House’s place in the Janus image, after a short time of gaining their trust. Her unbridled fury in finding the Illuminati was something they direly needed. Zenda House (FC: Shohreh Aghdashloo) is the CEO of Mercury Corps and Ash’s boss, during late HR and future events.General/notes
As Ash moves around a lot thanks to Vega, she has no fixed apartment while around Prague’s area. Sometimes she has crashed at Vega’s place but the more time she spends with Adam the more she ends up at his.Ash keeps in close contact with Zenda at all times.Once Adam learns about Orvol, Daria and the neural chip; he starts to grow worried about the faint similarities with his own memory issues. Knowing that the JC has an expert in the area, he discreetly asks for a check up with Jai.Ash likes to visit Negozio Di Magia near the palisade bank.Important npcs/other ocs
Jai: Skilled hacker but also educated in neural science. Has all hacking tools available. Works for House, lives in Las Vegas. Enjoy hanging out in the Lucky 38 when not working. Part of the JC.Jodosa: CEO of a hotel industry. Lost his brother to the Illuminati; therefore he’s very keen on bringing them down. One of the key members in the figurehead Janus. Has an augmented arm, with clawed fingers, earning him the moniker ‘the Dragon.’Varga: A world renowned thief working under the name ‘White Wolf’. Unknown augs. Doesn’t like power hungry assholes so could be convinced to join the JC.
Mass Effect[I’m working on a full on AU for Ash’s ME verse, where I’ll be making up my own story after ME2 as I do not like ME3 at all. My Shepard is also a whole other species rather than human.]
The Cardul species
The carduls, are a humanoid looking species with blue skin, pointed ears, black sclera instead of white, wings on their back and feathery tails. They’re a bit stronger than humans, but otherwise share many physical traits; something that has given rise to quite a few speculations.Their wings are so far a very unique evolution in the Galactic Community, making them formidable air assault soldiers. In general, they’re a warrior race, admired for their strength and tenacity.Their official colours are black, gold and red.History
They entered the Galactic community shortly after the turians but never became one of the Council species. While their best relations are with the turians, sharing similar war philosophies, they have so far not really ‘allied’ with anyone but prefer to aid anyone where they can. When the hanar sought to save as many drell as possible from their dying home world, the carduls took upon themselves to help the drell as well, although they refused to accept the near fanatic devotion that the drell had given the hanar, nor did they really need it.The carduls’ homeworld is a cold one, with snowy mountains, tundra, forests and cold swamps, although the summers around the equator can reach around 25 C. They are one of the lucky systems with a ‘spare planet’, a much warmer, smaller one that is closer to the sun. While too hot for the carduls’ themselves, they did allow the drell to settle on it. With the unfortunate side effect of the two drell nations to start to see each other as a seperate people. The drell in the carduls’ home system see themselves as a vassal to them; enjoying their protection as they recover from their own home planet dying.
Notable effects on the Galactic Community
The carduls have so far aided in all the major conflicts that have occured; where the greater community has been threatened. They even sided with the turians during the First Contact War, although they barely had a chance to do much of anything before that ended too. They’ve been offered numerous times to gain Spectre Status but have so far declined. Until recently, where Ash Shepard became a viable and willing candidate. Whatever made the cardulisian Jarlship change their mind is so far unknown.
Ash Shepard
Follows standard game story through ME1 and ME2, only that she obviously doesn’t serve the humans in this case. WIP
